This group is focused on helping kids with one of America’s top problems in our schools – bullying. Bullying and teasing are two of the top reasons that children develop low self-esteem and dislike going to school. In this group your child will learn how to stand up for themselves, use their voice and increase their confidence when talking to others.

They will practice practical strategies that they can use to be more resistant to bullying and skills to become positive leaders. In addition, your child will also learn techniques to develop lasting self-esteem, good feelings about themselves and compassion towards others.

This group is led by Kimberlee Bow, MA, LPC, R-DMT, CT and/or Anya Beebe, MA, LPC, Art Therapist and Parenting Coach, along with one of our qualified interns and/or staff members.

*Parents are strongly encouraged to attend the last 15 minutes of this group as there are skill building activities planned for you and your child to do together. This time is also intended for the transfer of skills from the therapist to the parent so that you can reinforce what the children have learned at home.

*Third graders are welcome to go with either group you feel would be most age appropriate.

*Please note, because of the high response and enrollment of girls for this group, we have changed this to a girls only group.  If you are interested in enrolling your son, please let us know as we may open another section.
